Instructor Capt. Steve Miller is also an expert on moon and other astronomy photography, and recently added a new jewel to his collection.

along with a question that is for those near the end of the course. It shows what we can do with cel nav once the basics are in place.

This type of analysis is definitely not part of the basics; this has to be considered an advanced question.

For those who want to work on that, you can post questions or discussion about it here.

Looking ahead, we do have notes online on how you can figure out where you are from a cell phone pic of the moon and another body. It does not have to be this unique encounter, viewed by a high end camera in the hands of an expert photographer.
