On page 44 of the book, the DR latitude for the 18:02:02 (UTC) sight is 36 degrees 34 minutes. For the 29:34:46 sight it is 36 degrees, 32 minutes.

Both of the minutes are greater than 30 50%). However, for both sights the a-Lat was selected as 36 degrees.

Why not use 37 degrees for the a-last?

Since the A-Lat to be chosen does not differ very much between using the next higher Lat. and the next lower Lat. I chose to keep the a-Lat near the working area.
