check the following:
-- be sure battery is securely plugged in
-- all cables securely connected
-- proper com port selected in the baro program setup window
-- reboot windows and try again

if all that fails, then unplug the battery, reboot your computer, plug battery back in and try again. (note when you unplug the battery you will lose all data stored in the weather jack, so this is a last resort if you have real data stored.)

if that does not work, might try a new battery... they should last about one year. Always write the date on the battery when installing new one using sharpie pen
