Starpath offers two ways to take part in online discussion of navigation and weather topics. We have Public Discussion Forums and we have Student Discussion Forums.
Generally this is way for readers to post questions to Starpath or to other readers when looking for advice on some topic. It could also be a place to simply share some unique navigation experience with others.
The Public Discussion Forums can be read by any visitor to the Starpath website, but only those with a Starpath Webcard can post questions or answer them. You do not have to be taking an online course to participate in the Public Discussion Forums; some visitors simply purchase a webcard (starpath.com/webcards) to have access to our resources and the ability to get professional answers to questions on marine weather or navigation. You are welcome to ask questions on any level. No question is too basic, nor too advanced. If we do not have the answer immediately, we will find it for you.
The Student Discussion Forums are generally more specific to details of a topic or to specific exercises in an online course and they include cross references to course materials. You must be registered in the online course to read or respond to messages posted there. The Student Forums are the primary way that students and instructors communicate during a course.
Details on the use of the Discussion Forums are covered in other topics of this forum.
