On page 12-3 column 2, 2nd paragraph there is a note that at MHW all "asterisk" rocks are underwater. This means all rocks awash, and these rocks have an asterisk for a symbol. To be strickly true, however, we should point out that on some small scale charts, an islet is so small that its outline cannot be seen. On these they replace the islet with an asterisk and put the islet elevation in parentheses ie (14). This type of rock is actually an island and will not be underwater at HMW. Our statement is not precisely true counting all possible cases....

One will not, however, be navigating in and amoungst the rocks with such a small scale chart, so the idea of remembering that all asterisk rocks (that you might care about) are covered at MHW can still be a valuable concept.
