and greetings from Starpath School of Navigation in Seattle. 

The 11 files you see here along with this readme file are the 
components of the Starpath TrueWind program, which we distribute 
freely as a public service to the maritime community and as a way 
to promote our other products and services which can be seen at 
www.starpath.com. 

Starpath TrueWind solves the true-wind triangle to yield true wind 
from apparent wind and also draws the vector triangle for each 
computation. You can enter data numerically, or drag dots on the 
vector drawing itself to execute new computations. The program 
can be used for actual wind analysis underway or for studying how 
boat speed and apparent wind angles affect the results. The help file 
includes discussion of true wind data for maneuvering and weather 
analysis along with explanations of solutions by hand-held 
calculator or by vector plotting. 

To install TrueWind, double-click the setup.exe file. This will 
install 2 files into your computer truewind.exe (324kb) and 
truewind.pdf (251kb) which is the help and discussion file. The 
program should work well on any windows platform. The uninstall 
feature works simply and thoroughly -- the only two files installed 
are those mentioned above plus the shortcuts on the Start button 
Programs list and the uninstall files..
