I assume the Zn (Azimuth Line) is the True direction to the object from the boat on the plotting sheet. Does this cause us any error if our log heading is given as Magnetic when we advance the running fix? Do we ever need to convert magnetic to true when using the plotting sheet? Thanks

Yes, that is true about the Zn. But there are no issues with magnetic headings. Your logbook will record the headings steered as magnetic but when you plot these for DR or advancing LOPs they must all be converted to true directions, unless plotting on a chart with a compass rose. Standard universal plotting sheets do not have a compass rose, so we make the manual conversions before plotting.
