Hi all,
Does anyone know if/where I can access the software that generates the yearly planet diagram from the Alamanc?
The one seen on the first page of Chapter 8 "Planet Sights" ids the one I'm after.
Thanks in advance for any help...

I do not know where to find such software, but an annual version of something similar is in the free Annual Air Almanac. see sections A122 to A124. There is a table of contents in the PDF.

Also have a look at their sky diagrams which are very powerful, if not actually the best, way to predict sights, short of custom software. See our article on this:

However, for over all views of the stars, a most powerful tool is the computer or device app Stellarium. We have a video on that at

see also this one on the Air Almanac in general

Thank you David I have a 2102-D and am currently studying your execellent Star Finder book. It's just that I found the Planet Diagram particularly useful as it compactly represents the entire year in one place. I guess I will have to buy a copy of the 2024 almanac to access it.
I will digest the links you have sent with thanks.
