Kochab is one example. It has a declination of 74*. It is shown In Volume 1 of HO 249 . There must be another procedure for working with the stars that have a very high declination. Please help with this.

There are several ways to solve these in the traditional manner.

You can use Pub 249 v1, which we cover later in the course, or you can use the NAO sight reduction tables (always good to know) or you can use Pub 229.

We have work forms and instructions for each of these
