David: Question......
When asking about the "Width of the Strait"......Are you looking for shore to shore. ....OR are you really referring to the "shoreline", which from inshore zone definition has to do with " navigable water limits along the shoreline, which are determined by water depth, local hazards, and buoys or beacons."

From Inshore Definition:
Note that "inshore zone" and "inshore traffic zone" is the same thing.
Note too, that the definition of "shoreline" as the inside limit is not literal. It means up to the navigable water limits along the shoreline, which are determined by water depth, local hazards, and buoys or beacons.
Thanks much Joe Bowen

Note that this ended up in the wrong forum, so i will move it to the Student Discussion forum to carry on there as needed.

The question asks:
2-13. What is the width of the Strait from Tongue Pt. on the US side to Beechey Head on the Canadian side?

So this is more of a point to point question, rather than the more generic width of the Strait. In other words, easier than it might seem.
