The StarPilot products were developed at Starpath School of Navigation in about the year 2000, but then passed on to another company for distribution in about 2003. We had essentially no contact with any of the products after that, other than to support our own students using them as questions came up.

In June of 2018, the StarPilot returned to its original home here at Starpath, and we will be looking into these products once again; we will now be the source of support to all users. This includes the original TI calculator versions, the Windows PC version, and the iOS apps for iPhone, iPad, and iPod.

We are of course already familiar with their functions and of course the basics behind each of the many computations that they carry out, in both celestial navigation and piloting. We will also try to bring more attention to the piloting functions, which can be overlooked if these are just thought of as "celestial navigation programs." Indeed, an owner of any of these products will use them far more often for daily routine and specialized piloting than in celestial navigation.

We are in the process of reviewing the products to see if any of the parts could benefit with an update. The basics are all in place and have been used successfully by thousands of mariners, professional and recreational for many years.
