At present the storm is 200 nmi off and we see the wind and waves are calm with no indication of a storm. This is valuable info as it reminds us the key is getting distance between you and the storm. Every mile counts. The storm will approach the camera just after sunrise tomorrow sept 18, so might not get a good visual estimate of how close do tolerable conditions persist, but might get a glance into another eye. The eye diameter at the moment is 35 nmi across. We do get the buoy records of wind and seas from this buoy, so later we will plot these as a function of distance off.
