Greetings: How do I request from sail docs the Forecast Advisory for Tropical Storm Elsa?

I was using:
[email protected]
Send http://tgftp.nhc.noaa.gov/#Elsa.
I am getting error message from Sail docs.

So I accessed the forecast advisory via the National Hurricane Center web page.
www.nhc.noaa.gov / Ts Elsa / Forecast Advisory

I would like learn how to and download the forecast advisory via sail docs.

Thanks and Best Regards;

Fred

There are a couple reasons this did not work. For one the website has changed, and for another these advisories are stored and distributed by storm number, not name. Else is storm 5.

The link where the data are stored is:

https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/hurricane_products/atlantic/

then choose 5 to get to this link

https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/hurricane_products/atlantic/storm_5/

and here you see the things you can ask for via saildocs:

For the latest advisory, you would use this in a mail to [email protected]:

send https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/hurricane_products/atlantic/storm_5/advisory.txt

I have tested this and it works.

By the way, the only way i know of to find out the number of a storm is go to archives link at NHC such as

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2021/

and count the storms! Else is 5th of the season.

Thanks for your assistance and support.
I was able to get the advisory from the NHC via sail docs and the list of storms for 2021.
Best Regards;
Fred
