In example "A" noon sight page 3-15. I completed all the caculations and I can find all the information nesessary. I get the same lat of 43 deg 62.5' however I cannot determine how the answer 44 deg 2.5' N is derived.I have missed something somewhere.

Take a step back and look at the numbers. You have the correct answer: 62.5' are 1° 02.5', i.e. 43° 62.5' = 44° 02.5'.
