Found an old Davis plastic sextent in the back of a cabinet on Allymar. Can't figure out how to read the vernier sliding scale.

Instructions for reading the Davis sextant vernier are really the same as reading any vernier it is just larger. There is a section in Chapter 2 of the course book on how to do this.

For more practice see problems 25 to 30 from these exercises from our online course. They are specifically for the davis vernier: More practice with sextant reading.
