Hello

Now that I have my Almanac I would like to work some problems with it (2007. Can you give me some problems to solve?
Sun sight to determine a zn DR lat and lon. A running fix. A planet and star(s) sight and pure 3 star sight.

I have tries to make up my own problems with current dates but find the complexity to difficult.

Thanks
Ken

OK we can do that. Please use your star finder or any other way you have learned to choose the best 3 stars for any date this year (evening or morning twilight) and for any ocean DR location. then tell us these, and we will give you the data for a fix as if you took the sights.

Here goes

DR Lon 122 47.6' West
DR lat 42 10.4' North

Evening twilight sight July 10, 2007

Stars to be used:
Regulus
Vega
Anteres

Does this make sense?

Try this:

sight time 04 30 10 UTC, HE = 0, IC = 0

Antares Hs = 20° 2.2'
Regulus Hs = 15° 12.0'
Vega Hs = 54° 40.7'

and see how close your DR was.
