I'm trying to understand in Example 6-1 page 51 how the rim scale value of 112°
was determined for 1200 GMT?
I can see that the difference between 61.4° and 112° equates to 50°, which in turn equates to a time value of 3h 20m, but it seems to me that this was accounted for when 0321 was added to 0845 to determine 1200 GMT.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Rick

When you look up the GHA Aries in the Nautical Almanac for 1200 GMT on 14 July 1982 you will find the GHA Aries is 112° 01.5'. When using the Star Finder we would drop the 01.5' and set the pointer to 112° and mark that as 1200 GMT or 0845 LMT.
