I have been studying the Celestial Navigation book for about 6 months and have really enjoyed it, and would like more problems. According to your web sight the practice problems are not ready. I need more practice problems with SEXTANT READING, MOON SIGHTING ( without the running fix factors), along with stars, planets, and plotting.

Thanks for the note. I will check the status of what is online about the problems. I think we do have extra sextant reading problems in the course materials and should be able to make a link to those.

As for the more general practice, the best source possible for that is our book Hawaii by Sextant. It has hundreds of sights with solutions and plotting. They are real sights from an ocean passage.
This is available in print above, or in various ebook formats for less cost. For ebook users we have a set of forms and tables you can download for easier work.

see http://www.starpath.com/HBS

Back as soon as we have a moment to check the sextant reading problems.

We have added the extra vernier practice to our Resources link, plus clarified the instructions for getting hundreds of new practice problems in various type of cel nav problems asked on USCG exams.

However, Hawaii by Sextant remains the best possible way to hone your skills in cel nav. Besides the real sights to analyze, it covers advanced techniques for getting the most from limited data.

Thanks for the reminder that we had not updated those instructions for 10 or 15 years!
