In 249 vol. 2 page 172 I see the LHA ends at 106 & 244 the starts up at 89 & 279. I do not understand the neg. numbers and why there are whited out spaces.

The negative numbers in the Hc column indicate the the Body at that Hc is below the Horizon.
The negative sign on the numbers in the d column are an indication that the Declination is of a Contrary Name to the Latitude.
The white spaces are there to indicate that the Body's Declination and Latitude do not have a solution in these combinations.
