Topic: Resilvering Sextant Mirrors

I took the Starpath course several years ago, finding the instruction helpful and useful when I crossed the Pacific to New Zealand and back home.
My sextant now needs a good cleaning (I can do that) and resilvering the mirrors (not sure if I can do that).
I would appreciate some helpful direction in:
a) a company or individual that would do the job for me, or
b) instructions of how to do the job myself

In the recent past we would have had a simple and excellent answer: just send it to Captains Nautical Supply in Seattle and they can do all of this.
Unfortunately, this grand company which was the longest still running navigation supply store in the US, having opened in 1897, closed down this year, in large part under the pressure of the Covid virus. We wish them the best, and still hold out hopes of seeing them back again.
With them having spoiled us, we do not know of many alternatives. You can check with Safe Navigation in Long Beach, CA or maybe Maryland Nautical in Baltimore.
There is an excellent book on the subject of sextant operations and repair, called the Nautical Sextant. The author is the expert on sextants and his site has a contact section. He might be a good source for repair shops in the US, although he is in NZ.
...sad to say, i just tried to find Safe Navigation site and they seem to be gone as well. That too is a major loss to the maritime community. They were great folks; i had known them for more than 30 years.
Speaking of old friends, you might also check with Baker Lyman just outside New Orleans
