When you subtract 11 hours from 5 hours what do you get? It’s 9.7 moon Arcturus ZD correction. I keep getting 18 and figure what I am doing wrong.

Why is the d value for the moon in 9.7 negative when it is increasing in value on the daily page?

==== 5 - 11 = -6

It’s 9.7 moon Arcturus ZD correction. I keep getting 18 and figure what I am doing wrong.

==== The zone description is given, ie a property of the watch. It is not computed. (If i understand your question properly.)

Why is the d value for the moon in 9.7 negative when it is increasing in value on the daily page?

=== the d value sign refers to the value of the declination with time, not how the d value itself is changing.

this is a case where the dec is getting smaller with time (hence a - d) but it happens to be smaller faster with time
