Transfered from a helpdesk email.

I purchased the Inland Navigation Course (paper and CD-Rom) and I can't locate a feature on the CD-Rom. The coure book on page 2-8 mentions that the CD has annotated photographs and animations to help identify chart features. I have opened Chart Trainer and looked through Chart No. 1 but I can't find the photos or animations. Please help me find those. Sorry if you have answered this many times in FAQs or Discussions but I couldn't find the info there either. I'm still learning to navigate my way around the course and the site. Thanks.

First we should clarify the distinction between the CD that is a component of the course and the CD that is part of the Chart Trainer software program. The latter is not part of the course, but an optional addition to it. See Chart Trainer

You mention opening the Chart Trainer, so i assume you have that product. The things you ask about are not on the course CD. The course does cover these topics, but not in the detail presented in the Chart Trainer.

On the Chart Trainer CD:

The animations are in the Lights section, which has a link on the main menu page.

The videos are in the chart tutorial, again linked from the main menu.

The annotated pictures are sprinkled throughout the product. You might try a search on "rocks" then when you get to the rocks section, see the links to any particular symbols that are illustrated. Once you see one illustration with annotations, there is an index link to go straight to the rest of the pictures if you care to.
