I'm having great difficulty deciphering the symbol marked "G" in the Chart Symbols Diagram. Can you give me any other clues?

A first guess at G would be green, but this one is in quotes, which is the key to the question.
Anything in quotes is painted right on the buoy. In other words, what is in quotes is the name of the buoy.
This one "SG" meams these two letters are painted on it, and in fact this one stands for the G buoy on the way to Seattle, implying there is an A, B, C, D, E, and F... which is almost true. the B buoy was historically in strong current and off station more than on, so they pulled it in the mid 80s.
The question, however, does not ask any of that. the answer is: it is painted on the buoy.

I apologize. the above is the totally wrong answer!
i was answering question 17, not 14. have to run but back shortly... also I will move this discussion to the student forum when i get back.
for those signed up for the online course it is best to use the more extended discussion group within the course. There are more instructors watching it and there are more cross references available. thanks
