In Navigation Workbook 1210tr,the answers given to exercise 4.16 (C) (d) and (e) on page 82 appear to show easterly deviation being subtracted from Compass to convert Compass to Magnetic. Problems (f) and (g) adjacent have westerly deviation, which appears to be subtracted - apparently correct. I am unable to understand why both easterly AND westerly deviations are being subtracted.

I'm wondering if this might be an error. Or has

Oops, hit 'Add Reply' before typing the end of the last sentence. I meant to say 'Or has this been published in the errata somewhere I haven't looked'?

4-16 C (d) & (e) East deviations should be ADDED not subtracted - (d) M should be = 336 (e) M should be = 049
4-16 C (f) & (g) West deviations are correctly subtracted
