I'm a bit confused by Burch's definition of "Aspect" in his May 20, 2014 section on tricky terms in navigation. He writes that aspect "is measured from 0 to 180 and labelled Red when we are on the port side of the [other] vessel." Doesn't he mean "... measured from 180 to 360 ..."?

Does this help?
It is essentially an angle on the bow definition, and this is always 0 to 180. In this case it is their aspect viewed by us, but it is defined as our angle on their bow using red and green to define the sides. It is an important concept for identification of lights at night, based on a radar measure of their true heading.
