I'm seeking documentation or publications regarding marine radio communications and DSC protocols.

I.e. contacting a USCG station for bar checks to see if the bar is open or closed for vessels of a certain size. Another example could be a smaller vessel hailing a larger vessel for collision avoidance.

Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Tom

We have two discussion programs. One is called Public and the other is called Student.

Those signed up for an online course are better off logging into their course and then from within the course post the question in the Student Discussion forum.

This discussion was started in the Public Discussion forum on inland and coastal nav. There are some answers there already along with the suggestion to carry on with the discussion inside the Student discussion forum.

We have many instructors monitoring the Student groups, but only one periodically looking at these public discussions.

Can you gather together all parts of the question to date along with any answers to date and present this inside one of the Student discussions for continued answers and discussion.

thanks
