If you want to use the StarPilot as a perpetual almanac for earlier or later days, or if you just want almanac data and not a sight reduction for some body and time, you can get this from the Precompute function. This for example might be a good thing to check if you ever have doubts about the outcome of some computation. look up the almanac data from a printed gov almnanac or get it online from the almanac office (NOT a secondary source) and then compare with this function to see what starpilot is using.

procedure:
in the calcualtor [2][4] then choose body
enter time and date and position and you will get out the Hc and Zn and also the GHA, Dec, and SD that has been computed by StarPilot.

in the PC version, Precompute is under the Celestial Bodies menu.
