I would use precompute function.... menu trail: 2 cel bodies, 4 precompute, then select body, and enter date time and position to get azimuth.
For more consistent high precision (ie ± 0.1°) double check that the setting for PC mode = 1 for High. The default is 0 for Normal. I do not think this will matter for the sun or stars, but it will for the moon and planets. To check this, use Settings 2, option 6, then select high.
You might make a few tests to see if this matters for the sun or whatever body you are using. High mode slows things down noticeably for moon and planets in the calculator version, but has little speed affect on stars or sun. Needless to say, in the StarPilot PC version, speed is not an issue and the "normal" mode is not even there.
