Topic: New weather links from NOAA

It seems the government is working toward simpler links...maybe. We mentioned www.nauticalcharts.gov earlier. It now says suspended, but you still get new links this way you can't find very easily otherwise.
Now there is a new one for weather:
http://www.weather.gov.
This is a short cut to this page http://www.nws.noaa.gov
This is a good starting point for general weather, land-based or marine and is easy to remember. It also points the way to several new experimental presentations.
And here is a link to a summary of nws marine links http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/marine which is very handy.
Somehow, however, none of the NOAA sites cross link to the main one most mariners care about, which is the Ocean Prediction Center at
http://www.opc.ncep.noaa.gov
.... we need to come back with a survey once they settle in on final names. For now, the main ones for all US maritime weather are these [followed by Google short cuts]
Ocean Prediction Center — Google: nws opc
National Hurricane Center — Google: nws nhc
National Data Buoy Center — Google: nws ndbc
Essentially all information for US waters beyond links within these sites can be considered secondary sources, except when it comes to finding and predicting sea state and ocean currents... then there are other sites to check as well.
Note that in the last one it is "national data buoy center," not what might seem more natural "national buoy data center."
