plotting sheets (NGA versions)

A blank chart of the ocean used for plotting celestial lines of position and a DR track for ocean sailing. Government issues come with the proper grid for various latitudes, and you draw in the longitudes.

They are available for every 4º of latitude, overlapping 1º. They are large sheets about 37 x 45 inches and they are expensive, about $13 each. All outlets for POD nautical charts offer these.

These plotting sheets, however, are not at all practical for small craft ocean navigation, which is much better served by the standard Universal Plotting Sheets. For one thing, these are usually much larger than the space you have on the chart table to work with. Furthermore, if we need higher precision on our plotting, we can just make a UPS with an expanded scale.
