Selected Worldwide Marine Weather Broadcasts

This was at one point a joint publication of the National Weather Service and the Naval Oceanography Command providing information on marine weather broadcasts in all areas of the world where such service is provided. It included Radiofacsimile, Voice, Morse code, and NAVTEX schedules are all included, along with very valuable maps which define the various weather reporting areas around the US and the world. English language broadcasts (or foreign language broadcasts repeated in English) are included in the publication. Part 1 is radio voice and telex, Part 2 is radiofacsimile.

It is, however, difficult to keep all broadcast schedules up to date in a such a broad publication. In 1994, the latest issue was dated Sept. 1992, which is outdated in several areas, but provides, nevertheless, a good starting point for gathering this data.

to our knowledge they have discontinued this publication some time ago. Now we must get the information from other sources, the most notable being from the Internet.

Related print publications include Radio Navigational Aids (Pub. 117), the Admiralty List of Radio Signals (vols 3 and 4), along with various publications of the WMO. These publications are updated on a regular basis.

One related publication is Worldwide Marine Radiofacsimile Broadcast Schedules which is a publication of the NWS, available at the OPC website.
