standard meridian

1. The meridian used for reckoning standard time. Throughout most of the world the standard meridians are those whose longitudes are exactly divisible by 15°. The Daylight Saving Meridian is usually 15° east of the standard meridian.

2. A meridian of a map projection, along which the scale is as stated.
