Sidereal Hour Angle

The name of a star's longitude on a star globe, it is how far the star is west of the Aries meridian. The location of a star on the star globe or in the sky is given by its declination and SHA just as points on earth are located with latitude and longitude. The SHAs and declinations of individual stars remain essentially constant throughout the year, with a very small drift over the years due to precession of the equinoxes and proper motion. See Aries and Declination.
