Planet diagram

A diagram in the front of the Nautical Almanac that shows the locations of planets throughout the day relative to the location of the sun and how this evolves during the year. It takes some practice to learn to use this diagram, but worth it if you care for an overview of planet positions throughout the year. For any given day, on the other hand, you can simply do a sight reduction to get the planets height and bearing.
