Meridian Angle

An equivalent, but less convenient way to measure the local hour angle (LHA), that is used in a few navigation publications, but not this one. It is the number of longitude degrees between the assumed position and the geographical position, measured either East or West of the assumed longitude (a-Lon). It is defined as: t = GHA - a-Lon. If t is negative (-) the body is east of the observer (t-East); if positive (+), the body is west of the observer (t-West).
