Note this is the wireless control console of a full weather station, but we are selling this part alone as a dependable, economic solution for an electronic barometer and barograph. You can add the outdoor features including wind speed and direction later if desired, or buy the full package from another source. We carry only the console, which is all that is needed to measure pressure, indoor temperature, and indoor humidity. (Indoor and outdoor pressures are the same.) Made in the USA, the Vantage Vue weather station includes a distinctive LCD console which provides user interface, data display, and calculations. This Vantage Vue cconsole is radio-compatible with Vantage Pro2™ weather stations so you can add components if desired. This is the control console for a self-contained, wireless station gives you all the weather data you need. This console shows current and past pressure, as well as indoor temperature, relative humidity, and dew point. Plus, the station provides weather forecast icons, moon phase, sunrise/sunset times, graphing of weather trends, alarms, and more. The unique Weather Center function provides additional information on each weather variable, for today and over the last 25 days. Below are two pictures of the pressure display, with the back light turned on. The outdoor values will remain blank when using just this console unit. This shows a pressure trend of + 1.3 mb/3hr. You can program the trend conventions and set alarms as desired. In the graph mode you can step back though each hour for a precise values of past pressures. Optional PC computer connection If you care to add the optional WinLink software, then you can have numerous other displays directly on your PC computer screen and have the system update automatically and store the data automatically as a text file. Note the sensor updates the pressure every 1 minute. We have put one unit into our test chamber and found that the absolute values were accurate within < ± 0.3 mb from 800 to 1045, and the unit we tested was offset from precise station pressure by 0.4 mb. This is easily offset in the console set up if you determine you need to do this for any unit. You can also easily offset the pressure to read sea level pressure for any station elevation if you choose to. This can be accomplished from elevation alone (called altimeter) or more accurately using elevation and present air temperature. Most units in this price range only allow the altimeter approximation to sea level pressure.
