This is a relatively new numerical weather model that provides wind and pressure and ocean currents out to 6 months. Within that time range it is likely the best planning data we have. LuckGrib is a convenient source of the data. See https://www.luckgrib.com/models/cfs

Note that CFS winds given are at 1000 mb and not at the standard 10 m, so we need to also download the height of the 1000 mb surface so it can be converted to 10 m wind as discussed in our textbook in Figure A9-3. When CFS data are obtained from LuckGrib that conversion is made you.
