range resolution

The minimum distance apart that two targets at the same bearing can be and still appear as separate targets on the radar screen. It is numerically equal to about one half of the pulse length. Since pulse length sometimes changes when switching ranges, the range resolution can depend on range setting. The pulse lengths used on specific ranges are presented in the manual, and sometimes they can be selected in a set up menu.
