heeling error

The effect of heeling (especially of sailing vessels) on radar beam propagation. In order to compensate for this the vertical beam width (VBL) is generally 25-30 degrees for all waterborne surface-search radars, regardless of size; however, many sailing vessels will have a gimballed radar antenna mount in order to better level the array.
