| NOAA Custom Charts NOAA Custom Charts (NCC) are new option provided by NOAA for making a paper chart from the electronic navigational chart (ENC) data. These charts can be used as a paper back up to the ENC or used in place of ENC for those who do not wish to use electronic charts. The procedure is we use the NOAA online app to create a high-res pdf chart of the area we care about, then it is up to us to get them printed. In our overview and resource we list printing options along with other aspects of NCC including links to the NOAA app. See: That link also provides links to those selected printers who used to do print the traditional print on demand paper charts who now will either print your NCC or they will make one for you based on past chart specs. In other words, if you are accustomed to using a specific traditional paper chart, you can call one of these printers and they will make you an NCC that matches that chart... keeping in mind, however, that we are no longer bound to those specific dimensions or scales.
