| pulse length The time duration, measured in microseconds, of a single radar pulse. The radar beam is made up of successive pulses, which are separated by the pulse repetition interval. The pulse length could also be expressed in yards, taking into account its duration and the speed of the microwaves, equal to the speed of light. A 1-microsecond pulse length would correspond to a pulse 328 yards long. Abbreviation: PL |
