tuning General name sometimes loosely used for selecting the optimum radar control settings of Gain, Brilliance, Tuning, filtering, and others, so as to obtain the best picture on the radar screen. Since one of the several controls is actually called tuning, it is best to avoid this generic use of the term, and reserve “tuning” for adjustment of the Tuning control.
