Parallel Rulers

A plotting tool used to draw a line on a chart parallel to another line located elsewhere on the chart. One application is transferring a course direction from the compass rose to your present position, another is to lay off the azimuth line from the assumed position when plotting celestial lines of position. Parallel rulers come in various lengths, although 15 inches is about optimum in most small chart table applications.
