wind instruments

The basic instrumentation for wind measurements include an anemometer to measure apparent wind speed and a wind vane to measure apparent wind direction. These days, this data is usually displayed digitally at the nav station, wheel house, or cockpit. Repeaters or menu driven display units allow the data to be shown several places simultaneously around the vessel.
