wind streamline Lines which show the flow of the wind. On maps of the tropics regions, these lines are not to be confused with isobars. Samples are shown in G402 and discussed in RES-1 on map reading. Some maps give a formula for relating wind speed to the spacing of these lines, but I have yet to have this work out right, so we do not include it here. See Symbols Book (G312) under "various lines."
