Weight (Mass)

By definition, weight is a force and is the product of mass and acceleration due to the earths gravity. It should be expressed in Newtons’’ (N) or in mass x force units (kgf). Through common usage the force component is usually dropped and weight is expressed in the same units as the mass. ie tonnes, kilograms, lbs etc.
