Weight (Mass) By definition, weight is a force and is the product of mass and acceleration due to the earths gravity. It should be expressed in Newtons’’ (N) or in mass x force units (kgf). Through common usage the force component is usually dropped and weight is expressed in the same units as the mass. ie tonnes, kilograms, lbs etc. Ref. Pg 20 Ch 3
