Fresh Water Allowance (FWA) When passing from Salt Water (ä = 1.025) to Fresh water (ä = 1.000) the increase in draft, or when passing from Fresh water (ä = 1.000) to Salt Water (ä = 1.025) the decrease in draught, is known as the“ Fresh Water Allowance.” Ref. Pg 28 Ch 5 Abbreviation:  FWA
