Tender Vessel A vessel with a small metacentric height will more easily be inclined by an external force. Once the force is removed, the vessel will return to the upright condition more slowly. While a vessel in this condition may be a more comfortable working platform it is more likely to ship heavy water on deck in a beam sea as the rolling period is greater. A vessel in this condition is said to be “TENDER.” Ref. Pg 39 Ch 8
