An unlighted shape on top of a beacon. Could be a square, diamond, or triangle, or circle. They information in their shapes, colors, and color patterns. May or may not include letters or numbers. They are typically 2 or 3 feet across.

The Light List is the general reference to the categories, colors, and patterns.
