depth area (DEPARE) This is an ENC area object representing all the area between two adjacent depth contours. Click any place in the water on any ENC and depth area will be one of the objects reported. The pick report for depth area is usually just the values of the two contours, either side of the point that was picked. A depth area report will be given even when the depth contours are not showing.
